?pp?A very close family friend of mine is an inmate at the Salvation Army, TTC RTC Rehabilitation Program, or as some call a 'Halfway House'. He was placed in the Dallas, TX facility located at 5302 of Harry Hines about 20-30 days ago. He has done extremely well so far, abiding by all their rules and regulations, and attending every group and activity that is required. He was given a walk pass to find a job 10 days after being enrolled there, and found a job about 5 days after being told to do so. He has been going to work as scheduled and in correspondence with the Salvation Army's protocol, as well as returning on time or earlier as expected. However, he was sent home from work yesterday due to weak muscle pains, trouble breathing, & a 103.0 temperature. So he went back to the Salvation Army to inform a counselor of his illness and after doing so was told by "Mr. Williamson" that he was not in fact not sick and making up the symptoms' he was describing (even after showing a thermometer with the 103 degree temperature on it), and ended in saying that he "didn't care" and "could NOT" be sent to the doctor - as they were told would happen if they experience any sign of sickness. And that it would all be paid for if they were in fact diagnosed with anything. I believe this is unacceptable and that someone should confront this counselor in ensuring that this type of unlawful torture does not continue.
