The crippling disease of addiction doesn't discriminate, anyone can become dependent on drugs or alcohol. Sadly, it's much harder to overcome alcoholism or drug addiction than it is to become dependent on them but with the right help, a person can achieve a life of abstinence and rebuild their lives.

In Minnesota, American Indians battling alcoholism or drug addiction can obtain the necessary help they need to overcome chemical dependency and put their lives back together from Minnesota Indian Primary Residential Treatment Center (MIPRTC, Inc.). Mash-ka-wisen Treatment Center provides high quality alcohol and drug inpatient services for Native American adults and adolescents 13 to 17 years of age.

Associated with MIPRTC, Inc., Thunderbird-Wren Halfway House is a transitional living facility for American Indians ages sixteen and above whose lives are affected by chemical dependency. The Thunderbird-Wren House consists of two separate gender specific living units, Thunderbird for men and Wren for women.

At the Thunderbird-Wren House, American Indian chemically dependent men and women reside in a safe, structured environment and receive the personal help and support they need to achieve overall healing and recovery. Residents of the Thunderbird-Wren House obtain the necessary skills they need to successfully remain clean and sober for the long term so they can avoid a setback in their ongoing journey. Their residents also obtain the knowledge and skills needed to live a productive and independent lifestyle when their recovery stay is completed and they return home.

Calls to numbers on a specific treatment center listing will be routed to that treatment center. Calls to any general helpline will be answered or returned by one of the treatment providers listed, each of which is a paid advertiser: ARK Behavioral Health, Recovery Helpline, Alli Addiction Services.

By calling the helpline you agree to the terms of use. We do not receive any commission or fee that is dependent upon which treatment provider a caller chooses. There is no obligation to enter treatment.
